ABOUT TAHRAH
New York-based drummer Tahrah Cohen is a touring musician and founding member of both Antony and The Johnsons and The Machine. She has been endorsed by Sabian, Vater Percussion, and Evans drumheads since 1990, and joined the Pork Pie Percussion family in 2020. Tahrah currently tours the country with The Machine and various other projects, and is available for hire for both tours and recording projects.
Over the past 2 decades, Tahrah has shared the stage with Lou Reed, Boy George, Rufus Wainwright, Ahnoni, Amy Helm, and more. She has also toured with musicians and bands from Jazz is Dead (feat. Jeff Pevar), Luke Rathborne, and the late Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead, The Tubes), T. Lavitz (The Dixie Dregs), and Jim Capaldi (Traffic), among others.
In addition to building The Machine Performs Pink Floyd into, well, a machine… she has spearheaded the band’s efforts (alongside the late Barney Kilpatrick) to perform this iconic music with various symphony orchestras, including the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Pops, Atlanta Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Richmond Symphony, Hartford Symphony, Wilmington Symphony @ The Mann Center, Birmingham Orchestra and more.
